This reminded me of Obertauren in Austria. One always approaches ski res=
orts
in Europe with a certain amount of trepidation "Is there any snow???". =

Obertauren is at the head of a pass, and when the coach stopped at the =
*bottom*
of the pass to put snow chains on my fears began to abate. We arrived =
in the
village to find snow heaped up in every open space to a height of about =
30ft
(not as much as you, granted). Several drags and lifts had to have snow =

bulldozed away before they could be used, we could ski out of the hotel =
car
park in the morning and back in at night. Ski-ing up and down the main =
road
through the village was standard practice, with signs instructing motor =

vehicles to give way to skiers.

Happy days.
