  Well, I guess I'm a snob then.
  If you'll check out ALL the 007 movies, you'll find that Bond drove more
than the Aston (though admititly it is the most famous), Lotus, and that
latest thing.
  JB was seen as the wheel of Sunbeams, Bentleys, AMC and MGB, just to name a
few.
  Apparently your "friend" has a bad case of  Wanna "B", and is trying to
convince himself that his pinto is just a good as a MG.
  As for the last comment, every new model of the MG was greeted by a loud
chorus of "IT AIN'T AS GOOD AS THE OLD ONE". For confirmation, see the recent
thread on this list Re; MGF.
