Invest in the JC Whitney wheel bearing insertion/removal set. You'll
have a much easier time of it, and won't have the danger of damaging
anything by "cocking" the bearing races.

Ever try to pull out a wide drawer from just one side?? and having it
jam part way out?? you have to push it back in, and then try pulling it
again from the centre so it slides evenly. Same with wheel bearings.
That whole drawer thing is called "cocking".

The absolute worse thing you can do is to "cock" the bearing, and then
try to pound the `&%$&% into place. You'll end up damaging the housing,
and possibly damaging the bearing race. That's one reason to use the JC
Whitney kit, or you could use a vise if you have one large enogh. The
vice will keep the bearing race in alignment with the housing until it
is far enough in that it can't twist.
