I really appreciated your story. I've had a similar experience with the
list. Lots of good, helpful advice from people "who know" and are kind
and understanding.
Segueue: I was recently offered a position as an FTE at the company that I
currently contract to. Nice salary increase, maybe sign-on bonus, the usual.
My first thoughts were "Hmm, I think I can afford a "new" car and put the B
in the shop for three months like I've been meaning to." and "But DEC just
announced their 600MHz Alphas..." The car's been waiting longer than the
computers, so I figure it has dibs on the dough and it certainly deserves the
attention.
