The alcohol program in Brazil is doing quite badly, as I understand. It was 
started as a reaction 
to the first oil crisis, but these days suffers from relative high cost just 
like other fuel alternatives. 
Eventually the economics will work out, unfortunately at a higher price level 
for all.
