I seem to remember in a review of the MGF in either a British car mag, or
maybe Road and Track that the MGF would not be brought into the US because it
would pose a problem for BMW Z3 sales and Miata sales, now, seeing as how
Chrysler could possibly aquire 2 of the 3 major points in that area, they
would probably go through with it, I mean, not everyone's going to buy one
and not the other, I know a few people who think the Z3 is really not worth
it, too expensive. lease kills you, and other things like that, and, I'm sure
the having the MG marque back in the states would spark initial sales, and,
if Rover would care to expand upon the MGF design, much like the original B,
designing a GT model, and other, "cousins". I could see a great deal of
interest, and, as for Mini sales in the US, I know that would create a HUGE
response, many of my friends know what they are, and wish they could own
their own, but, seeing as how the only Minis available are either already
restored cars, or rough project cars, most people don't want to get into
constantly fixing an already old and aging car (But isn't that the whole
point of owning one?? ;)

Anyways, being only 16, I could be missing the point here, but, I
believe it would benefit Chrysler greatly, although you would have to
overcome US safety regulations, and I can understand wanting to home produce
these cars, but, at least they would be in the states, and, seeing as how
people are already paying exorbitant amounts of money for cars that
truthfully are not worth it, ad not half as fun as an MGF or new Mini could
be, speaking of exorbitant amounts of money, does anyone know if they import
Aston-Martins into the states? I mean, are thre dealers? I saw an A-M DB7 at
Mid-Ohio this weekend, it was, gasp! Automatic, people in the states are
lazy, seems like no one wants to enjoy a clutch, oh well!!
Ignore this if it sounds like poppycock, but, that's just my .02, well, maybe
.05
