     Hi,

I just replaced the seals around the bolts on my luggage rack. There
seem to be two types of rack, one which has a chrome strip against the
trunk lid on both sides, which needs a rubber strip to seal, and
another which has a bolt at the end of each of the four legs that go
onto the trunk lid. Mine was this second type and I found that rubber
tap washers from Home Depot worked perfectly. 1 1/4" diameter with a
     3/8" hole.

BTW I have a '69 Roadster, and I have a new trunk lid seal which is
supposed to fit in a groove that goes all around the underside of the
trunk lid. What is the best way to fit the new strip? Someone
suggested I pull the old one out and then press the new on in with a
blunt blade. Surely there is an easier way?

If you have a luggage rack the bolts that go through the trunk lid need to
be sealed.
