Several years ago (so the story goes) Motor Trend was planning to give
Ford the "Import Car of the Year" award, but Ford delcined, and asked
that it's "entry" in that catagory be with drawn. They thought that it
might be kinda hard to explain how the LTD was a foreign car just because
they built the things in Canada!
