The PO of my '77 had two wooden 'rings' made that were the same size of his
door speakers. They were placed between the speaker and the door, and
enabled the use of deeper speakers by setting the speaker out about an
inch. Anybody handy with a jigsaw could make a set in a day or so...

The trick is in the
