Thanks to everyone for their input. It seems from the responses there
really is a problem getting proper insurance for drivers of LBC's who are
under 25. It would seem that there may be an opportunity here for some
company since if a younger driver was really into hot rodding a vehicle I
doubt he or she would invest the time, money and effort into restoring and
maintaining an antique LBC. This is an activity we need to pass on to our
youth if we expect these cars to be preserved for generations to come. Here
is the scoop on what we have tried and are going to try:

    1) His company for his everyday car (a Honda Civic) will only insure
for book value, not much for a 1959 MGA and will charge lots even though he
can only drive one car at a time.

    2) American Collectors Insurance (my company) will not insure anyone
without 10 years experience and places many limits on use. They have not
been bad to me but I will change to the one that insures my son when we find
it just out of appreciation.

    3) Condon & Skelley turned his application down with a list of supposed
problems that would never have been raised had I been the one applying. It
appears other young applicants have had similar experiences.

    4) Some have Insured with State Farm but seem to be hanging out with
regard to agreed value and collision / comprehension coverage.

    5) Several mentioned Haggerty as being reasonable on this matter of
young drivers and we are going to try them. If they are they will get
coverage on my Healey as well.
