Whatever else you do, replace all eleven head studs while you are at it.
Many times, the leak between the head and the block is because the studs are
stretched and just will not hold their torque.

Also, retorque as soon as the engine reaches temperature after your first
start-up, then again at 500 miles or so. With an iron head, do this while
the engine is hot. If you fit an aluminum head, retorque after it cools
down.
