Maybe so...actually there are plenty of parts stores around here, just no
Advance Auto!
I think the low prices folks are talking about are NOT for the tandem,
non-servo M/C found on '69-'741/2 MGBs.
Everyone I've checked with is about $200 for new and about $90 for rebuilt.
For rebuilt M/Cs of my type I've found:
Napa rebuilt Beck-Arnley $89.95 and a 2-week wait
Apple Hydraulics $95 about a week turn-around
White Post $235 with 24 hour turn around
these are minus core charge.
The White Post price kinda knocked me for a loop -- are they THAT good??? If
someone can convince me the extra $140 over Apple is worth it...I might
consider it.
NOW I know why so many folks try their hands at rebuilding themselves!
