If its a repeated click, coming from the passenger side rear wheel
well, its the fuel pump.  It should go click-click-click fast then
slow then stop - what its doing is filling the float bowls in the carbs
until the float valve closes.  If it doesn't stop clicking, you are
out of fuel, have a bad fuel pump, or a bad float valve in which case
you will probably notice fuel being pumped onto the floor :)

These noises are a good thing; you will learn to listen to the car and
notice problems as if by magic (to the uninitiated).

PS: If its just a single click when you try to start the car, its the
starter.
