Monza exhaust/electonic ignition

My '72 B currently has stock exhaust ----I have to detune engine grossly to 
get thru emissions (retard spark/lean carbs/disconnect advance) is there any 
change in emissions by going to a Monza exhaust? Thats question one.  Number 
2, if I went to an electronic ignition, am I correct there would be no way to 
retard spark prior to emissions test?    Jerry
