I think it was about 1,600 GT models and about 5,800 roadsters.

Nope.The 74.5 cars are essentially the same as later cars except for the
engine compartments.  The later cars were hollowed out inside to make
installation of the Rover V8 easier.  There were, however, all manner of
other little changes like steering columns, wiring changes, and other
stuff.  From 10', you couldn't tell the difference.
