If you want to compare prices, the following is Eric's guide to MGB
pricing in South Australia... (in Australian dollars)

$0 - $5,000 rust bucket (probably will not run)
$5,000 - $9,999 bad body - motor may not be OK (more $$$ better motor)
$10,000 - $12,999 probably good daily driver (no show pony) w/maint
$13,000 - $16,999 higher end will have good mech. AND nice paint
$17,000 - concourse entry... winner closer to $20,000 and up

Of course, you can easily bring a lesser car up with work... but these
are "off the showroom floor" indications.

A very rough guide to what you will pick up from the showroom floor of
an MG specialist dealer... most likely these will be "on consignment"
otherwise you will end up paying $3,000 more (as an earlier post from Oz
... was it you Neil??? showed with $20,000+ prices).

I have been hunting MGs for a couple of years and this pricing guide
seems to be a good... GUIDE! Of course private deals can vary
massively.

As far as MGAs are concerned... I am ALWAYS looking at the pricing on
these and would not (because of the additional work involved) buy one
for less than about $22,000 unless I was looking for a project for my
less-than-copious spare time.

My 2 pesos worth - any Aussies want to back me up or shoot me down in
flames?????
