Not to worry.  You can tap the bearing out without damaging it.  It is a
very rubust bearing and it's not all that tight a fit in the hub.  Been
there, done that, several times.  Go here for a nice picture tour of the
entire operation, including repairing the damaged seal surface on the axle

And along near the end of that tour you will get to this page, showing
exactly how to remove the bearing without damage:
