I purchased my first MG about 2 months ago, a 1974 1/2 MGB. It was
purchased as a project car, and I expected to have lots of work to do on
it. So far I have spent my entire budget doing repairs and still don't
have it in road condition, and it still looks worse than it runs. The
Magic is that I still love it. From other MG owners I have talked to, it
sounds to me like this magic will stay around a long time, probably
forever. That's magic!
I have had many friends over to see it. Any other car in that shape and
they would be saying "haul that thing to the dump!", but they take one
look at the MG and they have an envy attack. They say "WOW! It's
beautiful, would you take me out for a ride?" That's magic!
I took my wife out for a ride in it, and then she went down and got her
hair dyed. That's magic!
My teenage children, who are embarrassed to be dropped off at school in
my Ford Aerostar, ask me to take them in the "B". That's magic!
My Mother-in-law even wanted to go for a ride. That's magic!
And I like it!
