yes they should shut off all by themselves as the wheel straightens up.
Mounted by only snapping on into place around your steering
column (should be mounted) is a little clip that is squared off
in the back. As the column rotates it suppose to hit one of the two little
wings that stick off the turn signal mechanism to reset its position.

Since it only snaps on around the column I have seen them 'shift'
(rotate) in position a bit so as to not trip the lever correctly.
Also a P.O. may have removed it and just never did, or forgot to put it back in.
If you pop off your steering wheel, you should be able to see it.

I have a question on the subject at hand....

I just removed the engine/tranny from a 67 MGB-GT parts car before turning it
over to my buyer.

The transmission (non-OD) had attached a perfectly operational right-angle
drive on the end of the speedo cable.

I was under the impression that the right-angle drives were only fitted to OD
transmissions. Is this not normally true?

And on another subject.......

Also, I've been dying to know for months now.....is my car (67 MGB Roadster)
supposed to have a "self-cancelling" turn signal switch? I don't mind turning
it off manually, but I've been meaning to ask!

Thanks,

And now for the quote of the day...
