On my Midget (where the brake switch is virtually impossible to get to
without
removing the pedal assembly), I drilled a small hole in the top of the
switch
and bought some "electronics contact cleaner", inserted the tube into the
switch and sprayed away. After the solvent evaporated, the switch worked
again and
did so for quite some time before I sold the car.

You can take the switch apart and have it cleaned thoroughly with white
spirit from the outside. Before doing so the outside of the switch should be
very clean, otherwise you may flush dirt inside the switch with the fluid.
The switch itself looks to me as not possible to be opened for maintenance.
