If it's an electric clock...(see below).....why does it need a battery, surely 
your battery will last forever.....!!!!!!!!!

I have not changed the battery for 15 - 20 years !!  If you do not want
accuracy the battery will give enough to make the needle move so you know
you have continuity.  Measuring the resistance is not really important for
some applications.  By the way this battery has yet to beat the record of
my electric clock at 20 years with the same battery and keeping perfect time
