Are you saying that the power to the cigar lighter (which should be purple,
colours are always useful when talking about electrics) is drifting between
12v and 9.5v? Something badly wrong there. Is your interior light going up
and down as well? It is powered from the same wire. Have you checkd your
voltmeter is OK by putting it on the battery and brown circuits? If they
are OK check the purple side of the bottom fuse. What kind of stereo are
you using, power output wise? If it is a whopper it could be slightly dodgy
connections in the purple circuit that only cause a problem when exposed to
the megawatts of your stereo.

Before you start ripping the clutch hydraulics apart just get the car up on
ramps and measure the travel of the slave piston while someone operates the
pedal. If the slave moves out and then comes back while the pedal is still
down you do indeed have a hydraulic problem. If it is accompanied by fluid
leaking out of the slave it is, well, the slave. If it isn't it is the m/c.
If you are doing the m/c then it is worthwhile doing the slave and replacing
the flex hose at the dame time. No idea if the Midget clutch is as
difficult as the MGB or if this tip works as well on a Midget as it does on
an MGB, but refill the system from the slave nipple using a Gunsons
EeziBleed on very low pressure. Last time I did mine it took just a couple
of minutes and needed no bleeding.
