I've always gone farthest to closest, but like you said on some cars they
recommend opposite directions. I suspect it doesn't really make a lot of
difference unless the lines are full of air and then filling the farthest
one first will eliminate the most air the soonest and make the pedal do more
work with each depression the fastest.

Now I've seen both bleed from farthest to closest and closest to
farthest in recent times. Is there a reason for each or is one "more
correct" or does it matter? I've always gone closest to farthest.
