I'm sure someone will correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I think Antiques
Roadshow originated in the UK and the US version came along later. I've
definitely seen the British version at times, though I'm not really a fan or
regular viewer.

Can't remember where I heard this. But here's a link to the UK version:

information on any real official "link" between the two.
