An 18G or 18GA is not a 5 main engine!

Yes.

As I said in a previous post, if it has a mechanical tach drive, it is a 3 
main engine.

Unless someone has changed it (unlikely) yes. Just look at the side cover. If 
it is rectangular it is all synch, if it is trapezoidal (more or less) it is 
the original 3 synch.
