Well, I've had many favourable comments and a couple of not so. As far as
the home page goes unless your browser(s) are really picky about broken
links (IE isn't) they make absolutely no difference as far as navigating the
site goes, and again on my browser(s) neither does the time taken to load
the full page as the menu bar loads first and is available to be clicked
regardless of how much or how little of the main frame has loaded. Frames
is a fair point. When I first started the site I had no knowledge of HTML
whatsover. I made considerable use of a tutorial site that covered (and
uses itself) frames, DHTML, java snippets etc. I soon junked most of the
initial enthusiasm I had for the DHTML and Java but kept the frames. In the
past couple of months I have started doing away with frames as well (but
don't hold your breath) and going for a simpler navigation methodology
precisely so I can post references to the specific page. At the moment if I
did that, in most cases, the user would get straight to the specific page,
but get no idea of what other info is available or how to get to it. At the
moment I prefer to let people see what is available so they can use the site
as often and for whatever they like without me having to continually post
individual page references - "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day,
teach him to fish and you feed him for life", as someone once said. If you
don't like what I've done, that's OK, I'm not offended. Nearly 55,000 page
impressions have been down loaded in a little over two years, plus some
15000 for the pages dedicated to my late Father-in-Law. There's been over
1600 page impressions downloaded in the past seven days, of which some 75%
are pages other than the home page, about 50% are for the 'Hammer and
Spanner' pages. So SOMEbody must be able to use the site.

Chin-chin,
PaulH.

PS. MGB paint-chips coming soon!
