No coolant.  IIRC by shutting off the fuel injectors to half the cylinders
for 2 seconds sequentially, the engine was reported to be able to run 50
miles with no coolant.  The 2 seconds of air filling the chamber with no
fuel/spark/explosion kept the engine temps down
