I also had a dealer kit in my 71BGT.  It looked similar except I had two more 
vents.  I had vents, similar to the pass vent in your pics, on each side of the
center radio console.  So it looked the same but with vents in each corner of 
each footwell.

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have
   evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.
