Bill is right when he said the twin cam was tested to 113 MPH. Road &
Track's test showed 113 MPH with the engine turning at 6,400 RPM. The
test was a two way average and corrected for speedometer error. As the
twin cam developed 108HP@6700RPM it was probably developing a little bit
less then the 108 HP. What else is intersting is that the R&T article
says that if the engine could pull the car up to max horsepower at
6700RPM the car would do 118.1 MPH.
The English journals "Motor" tested the car to 113.0 MPH and the
"Autocar" got 113.5 MPH.
