Your pickup should be enough to tow, check the load ratings in your
owner's manual, though.  Sometimes the fact that a truck is manual or
automatic can make a BIG difference in tow capacity, depending upon
manufacturer.

Can't you take the wheels and tires off your 79B and take them with you? 
If one car is wire wheel and the other is steel (rostyle) that won't
work, I guess.
