I remember (what seems like many years ago) writing to this list being
very pleased with myself when I was able to repair this wire "on the
road" because I carry a 12 volt soldering iron in my on-board tool/parts bag.
My symptoms: running fine until it began cutting out intermittently at
high revs... then I noticed it cutting out on bumpy roads. Found this
wire sitting in place but easily displaced by prodding - or a bumpy
road (visual inspection showed nothing out of the ordinary).
