Good question James, but I really don't know the answer. The silicates in
the green stuff are said to "plate" the innards of an engine - that's how
they protect the metal from the water. What happens to them after ten years
of drying out I couldn't say. They may be sitting there waiting to be
reanimated with fresh water - dunno.
