  Hi Larry,

    Naw man,  you don't want to do that.  I've had the front end out of 
a couple of Bs.  I've also replaced the rod bearings in several Bs with 
the engine in situ.  I wouldn't dream of lowering the X-member to get 
clearance.  Easier to raise the engine.
