I have seen this exact symptom caused by a broken ground wire in the
diz.

The spot-weld had broken and the wire was just lying on the baseplate;
it
ran fine at lower rpms, but started a nasty misfire at higher revs.

I've also seen a similar thing (on a TC) where the owner forgot to
install the small insulating washer under the points pivot post. Damdest
time trying to find THAT misfire.
