I think what you are referring to is the grease retaining springing thing
(tech talk)inside the wire wheel hub of an MGA. The "square protrusion"
goes over the hole used to remove the split pin and the "little metal
semicircle" puts pressure on the "square protrusion" thereby sealing the
hole.
Seem to work quite well, maybe some early B's have 'em, or maybe they're
just better which is why Moss lists them!
