How do you compress the suspension enough to hit the bump-stops?
<<<snip>>>
Jounce (upper), not rebound (lower). If I'e got the terminology right,
jounce is when the vehicle goes up and the axles go down. Rebound is
exactly the opposite. Rebound would place more force on the bearing
surfaces you want to lubricate, making it even more difficult to get
grease between the components.

On the 49-62 MGs when the car is jacked up until the suspension hits the
stops, it loads the trunion and king pin threads on the normally
unloaded side. This makes it easier for the grease to get to the
normally loaded side.

On the swivel link pin it also works the same way. Visualize a dowel
(swivel pin) inside a toilet paper tube (link tube). When the vehicle
is on the ground the dowel is at the bottom of the tube. When jacked
all of the way up and the suspension hits the upper stop, the dowl is
now at the top of the tube. The same relative movement occurs to the
Acme threads used on the king pins (swivel pins) of the 49-62 MGs.
