I always have seen jobs like this, alternator
repairs, etc., to be good reasons for cleaning up
electrical connections. I clean the connectors
(battery disconnected) with a wire brush, wash
down with brake cleaner, grease with
dielectric grease and reassemble snugly. This is
also a good time to replace any ring or Lucar
connectors that are loose or damaged. In short,
it's kinda nice to take what was once a problem
and turn it into a proper restoration repair.
