The original 45DE 'Opus' ('Opeless) system with integral amplifier was very
fault prone. The later 45DM4 with remote amplifier was much better. This
was widely used on many makes and the module is still available. If you
have a 45DE and want to fit an in-cap aftermarket unit you will need to fit
the very flexible ground wire between the points plate and the distributor
body.
