I've never been able to get the 'push the pedal & bleed from the slave
cylinder' to work. I use a large syringe to pull fluid out via the bleed
screw. Others use a similar method to push fluid up from the bleed screw.
Once the system is full of fluid the pedal method works OK (but is then a
moot point...).
