Did do for about six years.  But tyre size is everything in snow.  My son
was used to driving a Rover Metro with skinny tyres, me a Calibra with great
fat things that performed like skis.  Son drove the Calibra in slush one day
and went for a left turn.  "You'll never get round at this speed", I said.
"Of course I will" said he.  Result?  Dad 1, Son 0, the car made no attempt
to turn so sailed right past the junction without even kerbing, and that
wasn't because the wheels were locked.  It is for that reason rally drivers
use very skinny tyres in mud and snow.
