Actually, I think I got it a little wrong:
Isocyanates are apparently the compounds that cause
acute respiratory illness. It's some other compound
in the paint that can cause brain damage.
I'm not trying to scare you, but paint is awful stuff
for the body. Just get good safety equipment and use
your head and you'll be FINE. But err on the side of
safety.
