  We hear different weights, 375-400 lbs being the most frequent numbers.
 Most any stand you can find will suffice for that.
  My experience has been that though a stand rated for the weight is
strong enough, a stand rated for the next higher weight range will be
steadier and easier to work with.  If you have the space in your garage,
I'd recommend spending very few extra dollars for the heavier-rated
stand.  I had a 500 lb stand on which I hung my TD engine (estimated
weight 425) and that stand gave me the willies.  Moved engine to a stand
previously used for an Austin Healey 3000 engine, whereuponI felt much
more secure about my feet being under the lump of iron.
