It's not a technically challenging job, although you may need a spring
compressor, as has been stated. The previous owner of my GT had installed
lowered
springs in the front, and they just fell out when jacked up and all the
associated bolts were taken out.
As for sources of new/reconditioned shocks, I think the consensus is that
WorldWide in Wisconsin does a great job at a reasonable cost. My personal
experience has been great with their products. However, I can't find the
link.
Maybe someone else can help out. Don't be tempted to put tubes on the front.
