Shift lever R&R

Are there any helpful tips to install the plastic bushing on the shift lever?
The bushing is gone, it's in a 1970 B 4 synchro  trans.

Are the 3 bolts and washers unique for the cap?  Do they allow it to move
some?  These are gone too, can't quite tell from the catalog, but they're
pricey.  Thanks, Joe
