Yes, the car stopped running suddenly while driving, and would not restart =
at that time. I don't recall how fresh the fuel was but am going to assume =
that it was mostly fresh as it wasearly in the season (Memorial Day weekend=
in May) and I woud have filled it up as soon as I started driving it.. As =
far as the pump pressure, it is a 2 - 3.5 PSI pump, and the same model=20
that I used successfully for the past 5 years.
Taking a few days off from the car as I'm having gall bladder removed tomor=
row.=20
I guess my next step is to figure out why the car seems to be running rich.=
The carb should be in good shape as it was rebuilt in 2010 and I haven't t=
inkered with it since, other than checking it last year for a torn diaphrag=
m after this issue. I do need to check the float chamber seal as that tends=
to leak after the car hasn't been run for a long time, so maybe I will rem=
ove the carb and check the shaft and bushings for leaks, as someone suggest=
ed. Probably won't post an update until sometime next week.
