Dick,

You mean to tell me that the fine German ZF steering box on
your Discovery is a little bit stiff at -25 F?! The ATF in there was
probably the consistency of honey. It will warm up along with the
rest of the car. I presume you are running 5 W 30 in your engine
or it may not be starting at that temperature either. The steering
box in a Land Rover also probably weighs more than the front
frame of a Plus 8, so that wouldn't be too practical. The later
Plus 8's use Jack Knight steering boxes, I believe.
