Happy New Year Greetings,
I have for years thought that the M40 Volvo box would be a great conversion
for a Morgan. If memory serves me correctly, the gear ratios are the same
and there is syncro on all four gears. I think that an adaptor plate could
be made to mate the gearbox to the Morgan housing and with the addition of
a modified front shaft and coupling and maybe(?) driveshaft, and straighten
and saw off the shifter, and you would be in business. I haven't done it,
but if I were faced with a $2000 repair job on a Moss box, I would try it.
I would like to know the specifics from anyone who has done it. You may
write me off list or on as you wish.
