'70 Plus 8 alloy wheels

I've discovered that one of my tires leaks air, through a pinhole in the
alloy wheel. Is it safe to have this repaired by welding? Having a hard time
finding someone willing to do it, but have been referred to a shop in the
south bay that supposedly not only welds, but can apparently also turn the
wheel in a "lathe" to hone the weld. Any advice?
