Hi all,

Divorce Court seems to be in session. It's a shame. As a matter of fact,
I think it's "really" a shame. Though I could manage to survive the family
split-up, I'd miss the kid's and in-laws, so I'd have to hitch along with
ALL the sub-groups suggested. Why?, you might ask. Am I the proud Papa of
an AD stocker "and" lucky enough to own an additional one that's modified?
Gee, then I must have an additional TF stocker hidden in the barn, and one
that's radically modified in the smoke house as well, eh?!!! (NOT!) Well,
H'mmmmm. Got to have some reason for wanting to associate with ALL these
brigands!!!

I own a 59' Apache 38/NAPCO. Maybe I "parent" her is a better way to say
it, as she really seems to have a mind of her own! My "Beatrice" might
classify as a stocker.. I think... Maybe... If the dents were from the
factory... And the rust was from the factory... And the multi-colored
faded paint was from the factory. Maybe if they cracked the glass for you
at the factory she'd be O.K. too. Unfortunately, they didn't, and she has
all those things. Did I mention the custom air conditioning vents at
critical places like the cab corners, floor boards, fender eyebrows, etc?
Does all that make her a modified? I don't know, but in a lot of people's
eyes that makes her junk. Important part here--MY JUNK! How do I save her?
Well, Love, Tenderness, Time, Energy and almost last but not least, MONEY!!!
Right?! Well, almost... One thing is missing... Knowledge!!! That's why
I need ALL the sub-groups. You guys and gals have right here, at your
fingertips (or mousetips, if you will) a resource pool of corporate
knowledge that is unmatched in the whole U. S. of A.!!!

I "need" input on how to identify the oil thingy on the older 235's. It
helps me to understand the design and structure of my later 235 better.
They did this to fix that problem, or undesirable feature! Or, gee when
they changed that it really messed up this! I need to know what makes her
tick, and -- "WHY!" How about a 216? What could I possibly want to know
about those? "Everything I can learn" IS the answer. A Cowl vent? What's
a cowl vent? Same basic principle as my kick panel vents. See, I can use
information from one thing to help with a problem on another. So I am
interested in everybody's old truck. AD or TF. Stock or modified. The bed
wood discussions... The stainless steel discussions... The IFS
discussions... The wiring discussions... The wiper discussions... and, I
think I'm probably not alone...

Now I'm fairly busy myself. Two full time jobs, 3 kids still at home, two
dogs, a fleet of 6 vehicles to maintain (Everybody drives!) and a wife that
DEMANDS attention. And you bet, the list volume gets heavy at times...
But, I think it averages about 20 or 30 a day. I haven't really counted.
The fact that we label the topics helps me sort out the ones I need to read,
and the ones I can just pass on. The value of the ones I read so overwhelms
the drawback of volume that it just isn't an issue. I think we're all
Oletruck nuts here, to one degree or another, and before we go off on our
separate ways, let's consider all we might be missing.

NAPCO is a 4x4 conversion package for those of you who don't know, and
wouldn't dream of asking. Beatrice is a 4x4. Now, the NAPCO parts and info
are scarce as hens teeth. Having a need for something as exotic as that,
and wanting to exchange as much information as possible on the NAPCO thing,
I started a separate list for NAPCO folks some time ago because I figured
that our stuff really wouldn't be of interest to MOST of you. Watch this
part. Almost every member of that list is also a member here!! Why???
Why stay here when we have our own? BECAUSE we all still need and
appreciate this forum!! Some of you may not realize just what we're a part
of here, but I do. Good people... No, GREAT people! Couldn't ask for
better company! And My oh MY, the information!!! It would be a shame to
part the ways. Lets start another list for sideline information or
something. Maybe a subgroup for parts wanted or for sale, if that's what
people want. Shift the problem areas, don't divide the list. Let's not
trash a good thing.

Good grief I get on a roll sometimes. Well, I'm done. Thank you for your
time! By the way, there will be a young looking old codger at the door as
you leave with his hat in his hand. Give generously! It'll be me!
