You can skip the etching primer step. Rust can form under it very quickly.
Epoxy primer will hold up for weeks or months. I used PPG products and think
they are great. The DP line is mixed 1 to 1, I would buy a gallon each of
primer and catalyst.  Epoxy primer goes fast, and you'll surely need more of
it later. Prime immediately. I had my sandblaster prime mine, and he charged
50 bucks. It took a gallon of primer and 3 hours. He swore he would never do
that again for so little money. Use urethane for the topcoat. I used DAU-
great stuff. The only trouble was it was a four part mix, 1 part paint to 1
part catalyst to 1/4 reducer to 1/4 flattening agent. Otherwise, it's full
gloss. Then use no flattener and 1/2 part reducer. THIS STUFF WILL KILL YOU.
Use a fresh air supplied respirator or don't do it.
